Checking in on Foaling Preparation

Foaling season is in full swing and our Advanced Fertility Center in Summerfield, Florida, is seeing new foals each week. For clients who do not wish to take on the 24/7 task of safely foaling out their mare at home, we offer complete services at our facility. Our on-site veterinarians and team of technicians observe and evaluate mares from admission up to, during and after foaling.

For those planning to foal out their mare at home, we recommend gathering all necessary equipment and supplies in preparation for the upcoming birth of your foals. It is important to become familiar with the proper use of equipment and the initial care of the newborn foal. Recognizing complications with the foaling process is crucial, so we encourage contacting your regular veterinarian and creating a plan in case of emergency.
