Despite the fact that externs will primarily be observing our work, the large number of cases that each extern will be exposed to, coupled with the knowledge and expertise of our veterinarians, provides an incredibly valuable learning environment. We try to facilitate as many opportunities for learning as possible. We also welcome our externs to attend any continuing education opportunities that are available during their externship.
Housing close to the hospital is provided. Potential interns are strongly encouraged to participate in our externship program prior to applying for an internship.

Professional conduct and appearance are required. The extern will be contacted approximately 45 days from the first day of the sale, then afforded a 48-hour acceptance period. The extern is responsible for their travel and stay. The externship will begin at noon the day before the sale and end at the conclusion of the sale.
