Dr. Angie Yates was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. She received her Bachelor of Science in Indiana U-Purdue U Indianapolis and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois. Dr. Yates says she does not remember a time without horses in her life. Her parents bred and raised Quarter Horses before she was even born. As she got older, she enjoyed science and knew she wanted a career with horses, which turned into a career as an equine veterinarian.
She interned at Peterson Smith 2008-2009 after graduation. Once she left Ocala, she returned to Indianapolis and opened her own practice, Yates Equine Veterinary Services, which she operated from 2009-2021. Dr. Yates is certified in acupuncture, chiropractics, equine rehabilitation in addition to being an FEI treatment vet. She and her husband always loved Ocala and are happy to be back in Ocala, raising their three daughters. When Dr. Yates is not working, you can find her in the barn! She grew up showing quarter horses but switched to the English disciplines 20+ years ago and has competed in dressage, eventing, and jumpers. She currently owns three jumpers, including a Grand Prix horse in a partnership. She’s passionate about working on performance horses and finds it rewarding to treat a problem then see a horse back competing.Back to Vets
