Dr. Emma Seitz-Cherner lived in New York until the age of ten, then moved to France. Growing up, she always knew she wanted to be an equine veterinarian and was lucky enough to ride horses even while living in Manhattan. After a year of undergrad at Findlay University in Ohio, she transferred to the University of Sydney, Australia, where she could go straight into veterinary school. After graduating from Vet School in 2015, she completed a five-month neonatal medicine fellowship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, followed by a year-long rotating hospital internship. Once her internship was completed, she joined us at Peterson Smith in 2017 for her surgical residency. Her areas of interest include colic, orthopedic surgery, and lameness evaluations.
Dr. Seitz-Cherner has traveled to several countries, her favorites being Argentina, New Zealand, and Australia. In addition to being a world traveler, Dr. Seitz-Cherner is trilingual, making her fluent in English, Spanish, and French. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, paddleboarding, and riding.Back to Vets
